                                                                 ~Mission Statement~
The Montessori Alliance of Tennessee is an inclusive community supporting high quality Montessori education in Tennessee.

Our goals are to provide ongoing education and support to the Montessori community and to speak with one, united voice, advocating for high quality Montessori education.

                                                                     ~Anti Bias Anti Racist Statement~
The Montessori Alliance of Tennessee (MAT) is an inclusive community of schools, educators, and families supporting high-quality Montessori education. MAT exists to support Montessori schools and educators in Tennessee and to help the members of our community achieve and remain true to the ideals and best practices of Montessori education.

Our goals are to speak with one, united voice, advocating for high-quality Montessori education and to provide ongoing education and support to the Montessori community.

Maria Montessori’s vision that education should help students and teachers become “citizens of the world” with deep respect and appreciation for all individuals and cultures and a commitment to achieving peace and justice for all people is paramount in MAT’s work.

We recognize that racism and privilege are systemic and present in our culture. We acknowledge that biases are inherent in our world and can include biases for or against racial/ethnic backgrounds, culture, language, gender expression, sexual orientation, family structure, cognitive or physical ability, economic class, and religion.
