2020 MAT Conference September 25-26th in Nashville, TN
We will be exploring the ideas of relationships at the upcoming conference and look forward to hearing your ideas for sessions! Proposal submissions should focus on this theme. Our keynote speakers, Dorothy Harman and Colleen Wilkerson, will be presenting on Intentional Relationships: Weaving Connections and Relationships and Resilience: The Montessori Way, respectively.
Friday Night Keynote: Dorothy Harman is an Early Childhood credentialed Montessorian and teaches public school Montessori in Omaha, Nebraska. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Education, a MA in Curriculum and Instruction and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Integrative Creative Arts. Dorothy Harman is a Montessori Teacher Trainer at the University of Nebraska-Kearney where she trains new Montessorians in her passions: Cultural Studies, Language Arts, Parent Engagement, Art and Peace Education. She proudly presents at Montessori and Early Childhood conferences and is the author of Intentional Connections-A Practical Guide to Parent Engagement in Early Childhood and Lower Elementary Classrooms. Dorothy enjoys writing and presenting to adult and child audiences, directing children’s theater, facilitating arts enrichment activities at her school, performing with several bands, and riding her purple motorcycle.
Saturday Keynote: Colleen Wilkinson is a teacher, administrator, and educational consultant from Houston, TX. Colleen has over 10 years of experience as a lead teacher in AMS Montessori Early Childhood classrooms and has over 7 years of experience in school administration; she has taught in Montessori, traditional, and Waldorf-inspired schools. She has facilitated professional development opportunities for schools across the country, coached teachers, and presented at many national conferences. In addition, she has facilitated parent support groups for foster and adoptive parents and children.
